Jonathan Lanes

As the Head of Risk Advisory Services (RAS) for BDO UK I lead a national team of governance, risk, and controls specialists. I am also the manufacturing sector lead for RAS and the Midlands region. My role is to ensure we bring together the best experts and specialists to serve our clients.

With over 20 years of experience, I specialise in internal audit, risk management, and corporate governance. I have worked across various sectors, including Manufacturing, Consumer Markets, Real Estate, Construction and Building Products, Life Sciences, and Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, I have experience in the Social Housing, Charities, and Education. My current client portfolio includes large private businesses, UK listed companies with global operations and not-for-profit organisations.

My focus is on helping clients improve their internal controls, risk management frameworks and corporate governance arrangements and operational resilience. I'm skilled in facilitating workshops with boards, audit and risk committees and executive management teams. I'm a Fellow of the ICAEW and have been a committee member of the Midlands Institute of Internal Auditors for over 10 years.
