I am Head of Risk Advisory Services for the East Midlands and also manage a number of internal audit clients across the UK and Internationally. My client portfolio spans both the private and not for profit sectors. My private sector experience is focused on the: manufacturing, retailers and trade merchants, automotive, construction, building products and services, life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. My not for profit clients include: social housing; charities; and education sectors.
I work with some of the firm's largest UK based global clients and I am adept at coordinating teams across the world to deliver our work with local staff to the highest quality.
I have completed international secondments including a 12 month position as the Deputy Head of Corporate Audit at FTSE 100 where I manage a team of Auditors delivering reviews across: North and South America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA regions.
In addition to my Internal Audit experience, I specialise in Risk Management and Corporate Governance advice. I am heavily involved in the development of BDO's Risk Management methodology. I recently designed a unique approach to defining Board Risk Appetite and creating Risk and Assurance models across complex organisations with global operations.
I am also a Committee Member of the Midlands Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) helping to arrange, facilitate and present at regional IIA events throughout the year. I also run a virtual forum for Heads of Internal Audit.
