Sandra Thompson

I am an Audit Partner with more than 25 years’ experience working with a diverse range of businesses, from private equity-backed companies to listed groups across multiple sectors and geographies. In recent years, I have focused on the Professional Services sector, helping businesses navigate complex audit requirements while providing clear, practical advice that supports their wider goals.

I bring a combination of professional services and industry experience. Alongside my audit career, I served as Global CFO of an AIM-listed technology business with operations across North and South America, Asia and Europe. Working both in practice and in industry has given me a broad perspective on the challenges leadership teams face and the importance of balancing technical excellence with commercial insight.

Throughout my career, I have held a number of leadership positions, including Head of Private Business at two large firms and Head of Audit and Office Managing Partner for a regional team of around 700 people. I currently serve on our Learning Strategy Council and Audit Board. I also sit as a Non-Executive Member of the Finance and Investment Committee of the Elton John AIDS Foundation in both the UK and US. A typical example of my work is supporting leadership teams through periods of growth and change, helping them strengthen governance, meet stakeholder expectations and build confidence in their financial reporting.
