    Cross border planning across jurisdictions,
delivering market leading service to clients

International Private Wealth

It is becoming challenging to effectively manage private wealth, assets and business interests across multiple jurisdictions. As a high or ultra-high net worth individual you will have a complex mix of property, business interests and investments across the globe. You and your advisers are having to manage efficient tax reporting and compliance under a number of tax regimes as well as being aware of residency and other rules.

International reach and expertise

BDO is the fifth largest global accountancy and business service network with over 1,500 offices in 162 countries. Our international network gives us the reach and expertise to support you and your advisers wherever and however you need it.

You will benefit from the close international cooperation of our Private Client teams across our network and their collective focus on delivering you exceptional service. You also need to be sure that all decisions are being taken to improve your global tax position, not just in a single jurisdiction.

You and your advisers will be able to work with our international desks that provide deeper expertise in the major jurisdictions and the world’s largest financial centres. If you have interests in the US, you may also wish to work with our specialist US Private Wealth and Entrepreneurial tax team based in London.

The World of Private Clients – take part in our global survey

The World of Private Clients is BDO’s innovative, international research programme designed to provide a forensic understanding of the critical issues, questions, opportunities and risks facing the global High Net Worth community over the coming 12 months and beyond.

Our survey is now live and will lead to the creation of international and pan regional insights which will be relevant across the community. We will provide benchmarking against a number of key questions, providing useful observations as we face, on a global level, a time of uncertainty and of breaking new ground.

Our research will span four leading themes:

  • Tax Transparency and Risk
We delve into issues such as privacy vs. transparency, social attitudes to greater transparency, and risk and reputation management.

  • Relocation
Particularly pertinent now, the changing role of tax exposure in decision-making in private client relocation. How do restrictions on travel and the role of social and political unrest change private client wealth ‘hotspots’?

  • Family & Intergenerational wealth
We look at themes around new wealth and attitudes toward wealth management, particularly analysing trends in impact investing and philanthropy.

  • Adviser of the future
What skillsets must the adviser of the future retain and develop? What will the private client of the future expect?

Non-domicile and Residency

These include offshore trustees and directors, private equity investors, senior executives and management teams. They work with us to understand their requirements from a business, personal and family perspective.
