Rather than continue with the coronavirus job retention scheme (CJRS), on 24 September 2020 the Chancellor announced an entirely new scheme to subsidise employees continuing to work part of their normal hours: the Job Support Scheme (JSS) will operate for six months from 1 November to 30 April 2021.

Further details of the scheme have now been published and a second strand of the scheme was announced on 9 October. Read more on our dedicated JSS page.
