BDO has provided financial, tax diligence support and business restructuring advice to Arise Capital on their acquisition of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. Sheffield Wednesday has a long heritage, formed in 1867, and is one of the oldest active football clubs in the world. Competing in the English Championship in the 25/26 season, the club has spent most of its time in one of the top two leagues in the English football pyramid.

However, the club was out in to administration in October 2025 creating significant uncertainty for the club and fans. With extensive discussions between all parties, the Transaction helped bring the club out of administration.
