BDO's insurance sector focused specialists and Scottish M&A team has recently advised the shareholders of Blackford Group on its successful sale to Partners&.
Blackford Group is an award-winning chartered insurance broker with offices across Scotland and focusing on high net worth private and corporate clients with complex insurance needs. Founded and led by Tom Aldridge and building on his experience of working with large national broking groups, Blackford has developed a reputation for high quality, client-led advice which is underpinned by traditional broking expertise and values.
Working alongside Inverness based MacDonald Group, which became part of Partners& three years ago, the combined business will have offices in Aberdeen, Benbecula, Dundee, Edinburgh, Helensburgh, Inverness, Glasgow and Perth.
Supported by US private equity investors Capital Z, Partners& was launched by insurance industry veteran Phil Barton in 2020 to challenge the insurance market which he believed suffered from increasing commoditisation and diminishing client service.
