Boldly going digital

Announced during the March 2015 budget, the Government set itself a bold target for a fully digital tax system by 2020 – whereby all businesses and individual taxpayers will be able to view and manage their tax information via online digital accounts. HMRC has now published the first consultation documents on the proposals, which give a more detailed indication of how it sees the way forward, and we examine the implications for taxpayers and advisers.
